Everything in our life started with a thought, which is either rooted in love or fear.  The thoughts we think create the reality around us, especially with relationships.  This can lead to a manifestation of all the things we do not want when we are living with a fear-based mentality.  This state of mind is created by childhood trauma and can continue to replay through our adulthood affecting our lives and our ability to form healthy relationships.  When one does not have a healthy, secure attachment when young, we will attract unavailable or unfaithful partners who play out the same unhealthy dynamic they experienced as a child.  On the flip side of the coin, we are not attracted to secure partners because they do not hold our interest.   


Relationships are our ultimate teachers if we allow them to be.

Often, we don't recognize our own patterns or limitations until something big triggers our awareness.  Change is one of the very great teachers of life.  It shows us what we are still holding onto in life that we may not have realized.

When the Universe sends endings or abrupt change, it is a way of redirecting your soul and consciousness to question what is really resonating and true for you.  This may not be so easy to recognize in the moment, but in time you will come to see that you are being divinely guided.

Change is inevitable.  In fact, it is one of the only things in life that we can count on to surely happen.  Often, it does so just when you are getting comfortable or feeling that you have got things "under control".  Like an earthquake rumbling about, change comes in and shakes the Earth from under your feet.

What if I told you your life story before it happened?  Would you make the same decisions if you knew that it would result in a painful experience?   

Probably not...

That's the funny thing about life.  We all think we can control it...that somehow we can set up everything perfectly around us so we don't have to experience pain and suffering.  But suffering is inevitable.  It's a way of learning about ourselves and the world around us.  Suffering so beautifully shows us the light, freeing us from our ourselves to a higher alignment.  It's the Universe's way of directing us.

Through PAIN comes GROWTH.  And everything that is happening in your life right now is something that is reflecting back to you exactly what you need to learn.  So all we really can do is SURRENDER.  And this is where the magic lies....in surrendering, in listening, in opening our minds and hearts to learn the lessons.  To let down our walls that we have built so carefully to be vulne...

Cleansing is such a great way to reset your mind and body.  I like to do it every season to reboot my system and transition into the new season feeling healthy, vibrant and renewed.  I do mini cleanses anytime I am feeling a illness coming on or are just feeling run down in general.  This is something I also regularly do with clients to teach them how food and stress affects their body.

I was having a conversation this morning with one of my dearest friends about her endometriosis and what that really means for her.   Being the incredible healer that she is, she was telling me some of underlying emotional feelings and issues that condition represents in her body.  As we chatted, it spurred me to reflect upon a recent injury I had to further explore the meaning of it.  

The other day as I was rushing out the door, I tripped and ripped my entire toenail off my toe and so now am left with a deep wound and half-attached toenail.  To injure the little toes, this indicates problems, trouble or over-sensitivity.  If it’s on the left side, it has to do with relationships as this is the feminine side.  If it’s on the right, it has to do with career as this is the masculine side.  This was very interesting to me, because I really have not had the awareness of my relationship issues until this injury.  As I further explored, some very insightful information began t...

Fear is a funny thing.  It can both motivate us and hold us back.  It’s the driving force behind why we do so much in life.  Fear of not being accepted, not having financial security, not being good enough, not living up to the incredibly high ideals we hold ourselves to.  

I’ve always had the tendency to jump into things that I am afraid of.  Do that which I am most afraid of.  This has helped me in many ways to change careers, travel to foreign countries by myself, move to new cities and just push myself out of my comfort zone.  But there has always been one area, I haven’t been so willing to face.  The fear of facing my darkness aka the underlying feelings of pain, anger, hurt and trauma.  This is an area that we generally will do anything to avoid.  What ends up happening is those unresolved feelings manifest into compulsions, addictions and even depression.

Take Charge!

You do not have to blow your healthy food plan when eating away from home.

Some Tips:

  • Plan ahead.

  • Watch portion size.

  • Know the best “eat-out” foods.

  • Include foods you love when you can.

Before you go out make sure you think ahead.

  • Choose a restaurant with plenty of menu choices.

  • Use apps like HealthyOut to find healthy restaurant options or just do a quick google search for healthy, local or organic restaurants around you. A good online resource is www.happycow.net

  • Go online to preview the menu, or call and ask what healthy choices they offer. Look for foods that are “lean,” “light” or “heart healthy.” Generally, gluten-free dishes tend to be on the healthier side as well.

  • If you have a gathering or celebration to go to, eat a snack before you go out. It helps, believe me. Do not wait until you are starving, you will end up overeating.

We are always creating, whether that be something desirable or undesirable.  Have you ever had a day where everything just seemed to go wrong?  You get stuck in traffic and show up late for a meeting.  Then, that meeting just goes completely south.  From there, you go order some lunch and they mix up your order. And on and on....

Where did the chaos start?  With you and your thoughts.  There was something within  you that created that reality.  So, let's work with this!  This is really good news because it means that at anytime, you can CHOOSE to create something different.  But it's a choice and takes effort and intention to choose a more aligned and higher vibration.

I love to travel.  Exploring new places, cultures, people, adventures...it fills up my soul.  But sometimes, I find myself getting caught up in the hectic before and after of a trip, which can really take away from the meaning and purpose of a vacation.  As I was preparing the night before my 3-week journey to Southeast Asia, I started to go into my typical “I need to bring everything I could possibly need” packing habit. Then, suddenly I remembered what this trip is really about - less stuff, more doing, living simply, and enjoying the essence of each moment exactly as it is.  

So, I took out half of the items I had initially packed, threw them into my smallest suitcase, and reminded myself that I have all I need within me.
